Last week marked a special milestone for Freddie – his farewell dinner after completing 10 years as a trustee at Delapré Abbey .

It’s hard to put into words what this decade has meant; when he first joined, the Abbey was at the beginning of a bold new chapter. Over the past 10 years, Freddie had the privilege of being part of an extraordinary journey – from restoration and transformation to becoming a thriving cultural, historical, and community hub at the heart of Northampton.
Together, the team has:

🏘️ Brought the Abbey back to life, restoring it with care and purpose
🪴 Grown a vibrant programme of events, activities, and partnerships
🎨 Made space for art, heritage, nature, wellbeing, and local enterprise
🤝 Built deeper connections with our community – making the Abbey a place for everyone
💡Created a sustainable vision for the future, driven by collaboration and passion
Freddie leaves with immense pride and gratitude – for the team, fellow trustees past and present, volunteers, supporters, and the local community who all made this possible. It’s been an honour to serve a place that means so much to so many.

Here’s to the next chapter for Delapré Abbey – we will always be cheering you on!
