RTP's Leadership on a Box #3
Posted on 18th March 2025 at 18:09
On Thursday 7th March, we were delighted to host our third "Leadership on a Box" event at at TAP Brewery Milton Keynes.
Once again, we were joined by a wonderful group of guests, who came along to share and to hear fascinating Leadership stories from like-minded individuals. From inspiring, life changing leadership moments to accounts of amazing or conversely toxic cultures, we listened to what our speakers had to say.
With stories presented in a relaxed, open-mic night environment, we heard from a selection of speakers including:
Freddie Guilmard, CEO, RTP
John Fisher, Consultant, Author & Speaker
Philip Milne, Consultant
Parm Bhangal, Founder of Bhangals Construction Consultants and My Build Estimate
Graham Clark, Owner at Coach2Success.co.uk
Deirdre Miller, Consultant
Alan Valentine, Agile Coach, Easyjet
Tony Monger, Director, Some Bright Spark
A huge thank you to our keynote speaker John Fisher for making time to be with us and sharing some fascinating insights about leadership from his latest book.
Thank you also to all our wonderful speakers for signing up on the night and sharing truly inspirational stories of their personal leadership journeys.
With drinks and pizza supplied, our guests enjoyed a relaxed and informal evening, learning and laughing about our leadership journeys together.
Thanks to Datis Gol and his team for looking after us so well and thank you to all our guests for attending our second event.
Through the generosity of everyone on the night, we were able to raise over £150 for Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
And following some more amazing feedback, we are now keen to arrange our Leadership on a Box #4 event in July.
Watch this space; we will be sending invitations and publishing further details on our socials for those who are interested in attending.
In the meantime, for any questions do get in touch with us at admin@the-redthread.co.uk.

Here is what some of our wonderful guests had to say after the event:
"It was a great event and a very unusual MK venue for anyone interested in a private venue with beer and pizza on tap!
I really enjoyed talking to local, and to me, young business people who were genuinely interested in reading between the lines, not just all the well worn platitudes about how to run a successful large enterprise.
It restored my faith in giving and receiving informed feedback about the how-to rather than what you ought to do next, according to some so called well publicised international experts."

Many thanks to Freddie Guilmard and The Red Thread Partnership for encouraging me to grab the microphone.
There were numerous people sharing their leadership stories and what makes for good leaders.
My little bit was around the importance of #Loyalty and #Delegation.
If you expect loyalty from your team members, then they deserve your loyalty in return; make sure that you have their backs and are not just using their shoulders to climb the corporate ladder!
Delegation involves trust. If you ask people to do something, judge them on results and their process. So long as people follow the logic and base decisions on best available facts they deserve your support.
What type of leader are you?
Philip Milne
My thanks to Freddie Guilmard and Kathryn Bell for organising a great networking event with a twist last week.
Following insight from Freddie and a keynote by John Fisher, the audience were invited to the 'open mic'. This was an opportunity to share their experiences and observations on what great (and not so great) leadership feels, sounds and looks like.
It was insightful and entertaining in equal measure, all within a relaxed environment at Brewery Tap House in Milton Keynes.
I'm looking forward to the next one.
