On Tuesday 10th September we were delighted to welcome the 7th Milton Keynes cohort of The Red Thread Fellowship, to the stunning surroundings of Delapre Abbey in Northampton for their Graduation ceremony.
The graduation was attended by several representatives from the charities benefitting from this most recent programme. Daniel Mullins and Suzanne Moss joined us as representatives of our main sponsor; Ringway, we were joined by our Fellowship Ambassador Beckie Staincliffe and we were delighted to welcome Countess Elizabeth Howe, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire as our special guest, who had crossed the County border in an unofficial capacity.

Over the last 12 months, the Fellowship Programme has challenged and developed our group to understand:

Role Modelling - The impact of personal behaviour in setting culture and Emotional Intelligence.
Inspiring a Shared Vision - How to create, share and live a vision for the future whilst engaging and enlisting the support of others.
Enabling Others to Act - How to foster collaboration, delegation and decision making and how to identify and build other’s strengths.
Challenging the Process - How to lead change better, to lead for creativity and innovation and to encourage teams to experiment and take risks.
Encourage the Heart - How to acknowledge and recognise other’s contributions and how to better celebrate achievements and accomplishments.

Throughout the year, the Fellows have supported 5 local charities, raising a fantastic amount of money for them. This has increased the total funds raised for charity since the Fellowship’s inception in 2014, to just under £70,000!

This year, our charities included:

Bus Shelter MK
Willen Hospice
Men in Sheds MK
The Lewis Foundation
Harry’s Rainbow.

Our ‘Fellow of the Year’ David Thom, supported Men in Shed’s MK. He left a lasting impression with Nigel Pigott from the charity who said:

“You gave us much more than just a funding boost, with your enthusiasm and willingness to invest time in a whole range of activities.”

The Fellows have developed both professionally and personally and undertaken some excellent work to support their designated charities; from laying paths to overhauling procedure manuals and to liaising with media companies to create social media content the Fellows impact has been enormous.

This cohort has certainly supported the ethos of the Fellowship Programme in that alongside the year long experiential leadership programme. our Fellows support their charity to make a long lasting and sustainable contribution.

We are incredibly proud of the Fellows and are pleased to know that several of this year’s cohort are continuing to support their charities.
