Although the Red Thread Fellowship was created by the founders of the Red Thread Partnership for the benefit of the local business and charity community, in essence, the underlying work for participants mirrors the learning and development provided by Red Thread Partnership in its day-to-day work.
The great difficulty in all development is understanding the degree to which it has improved awareness, performance and career prospect of participants.

The Red Thread Fellowship introduced a 360 feedback survey, specifically designed for the RTF programme, to identify how participants have changed and improved in the course of the training and charity work provided to participants.

Participants take a 360 survey before commencing the programme. The input is completed by the people they work with in their place of employment (i.e. NOT programme participants).

A report is produced and the output provides individuals and trainers with the areas they can focus on during the programme.

At the end of the programme, a second 360 is taken, again with input from work colleagues, and the 2 reports are compared. In the majority of cases, there is a noticeable improvement, some of which can be directly attributed to participation in the programme.

In addition, the second report gives each participant a guide to the areas that would benefit from their attention in their day-to-day role going forward.

Red Thread Fellowship training is provided to participants free of charge but in any work environment, a 2-part, 360 process can be used to establish the Return on Investment (ROI) of any medium-/long-term training activity.

Freddie Guilmard, founder of the Red Thread Fellowship (as well as the Red Thread Partnership) says:

β€œThe specially-designed 360 is an invaluable part of the training toolkit on the Fellowship Programme. We can see the value it will create to any of the programmes we run as the Red Thread Partnership. In addition, the 360 can be tailored to any organisation, making sure it meets the specific need of that organisation.”
